Simple Things That You Can Do To Make Every Day A Happy One

I think it is truly magical how every day represents a fresh start. Each morning, when you wake up, you have so much power in that very moment to turn things around to ensure that your day is going to be a happy one. Every day, when you wake up, you have the chance to change your life if you really want to and it's up to you to get out of bed and decide, "Yeah, I'm going to have a good day today." It all starts with that moment.I am a firm believer in the fact that happiness is the most important thing, always, and so I wanted to share with you ten super simple things which you can do in order to inject a little more happiness into every day. Sometimes, all it takes is the smallest of changes in what you're doing, saying or thinking, in order for you to feel more positive about life.

1. Start each day with a goal
When you wake up each morning, decide, "What do I want from this day?" It could be something as trivial as wanting to wash your car, or it could be something more significant such as to make someone else happy. Whatever it is, set yourself a goal every day. You'll then be able to feel a great sense of achievement if you fulfill that goal and it's almost as if it gives each day a little more purpose.

2. Smile more!
It sounds pathetically simple, but smiling more is a great way of improving your mood. Plus, it takes more muscles to frown than to smile, so why make life hard for yourself? Smile at others too because smiling is infectious and knowing you've sprinkled a little happiness onto their day can make you feel even better about yours. If you start forcing yourself to smile, you'll realise that there actually is a lot to smile about.

3. Be nice to others
Even if it's just holding a door open for someone or thanking a bus driver as you exit the bus, a small act of kindness can mean a lot than you may ever know to someone else. Besides, doing something good for someone else will not only give you good karma but also gives you the satisfaction of making someone else's day, which is guaranteed to put you in a better mood.

4. Try new things
Trying new things can be scary but you'll never know how much you may enjoy them if you don't give them a go. Besides, if you don't enjoy them, you don't have to do them again, however, life is all about experimenting, taking risks and living to the fullest! It's said that you should try something new every day, and it doesn't even have to be anything crazy. Try out a new radio station, a new breakfast cereal, a new style of jeans, or a new route to work, it doesn't always have to be as extreme as a skydive but, if you start small, eventually, you'll have the courage to tick off everything on your bucket list! Plus, it makes life more exciting!

5. Eat well and drink well
A lot of us don't realise how much we're not looking after our bodies in term of food and drink. We don't always eat three meals a day or drink anywhere near enough water because life can be hectic, I get that, but if you look after your body, it will look after you. Keep yourself healthy by eating the right foods regularly and drinking constantly. You'll then have even more energy to enjoy the day and do everything you want to do, plus, a happy inside leads to a happy outside.

6. Love yourself
Of course, self love is a journey, it's a marathon, not a sprint, and it isn't something which just comes overnight, however, each day, take baby steps towards learning to love yourself. Each day, start to appreciate yourself more, look in the mirror and find three positive things about yourself, sit and think about the positive impact you're having on other people. Once again, a happy inside leads to a happy outside, so realise that you are being the best version of yourself and recognise all that you have achieved and all that you are yet to achieve. Accept your body as it is and

7. Feel excited about life
Yes you can set goals and have an ittinery for the day, however, you never truly know what a day could spring on you, which is slightly terrifying but also exceptionally wonderful. Don't you think it's exciting that every day holds new opportunities and literally anything could happen from the moment you wake up until the moment you got to sleep? Feel excited about life and look forward to waking up in the morning and having the chance to experience things that other people aren't able to.

8. Surround yourself with happy people
It's important to surround yourself with positive people as negative people will only have a negative impact on your mood. Surround yourself with those who bring out the best in you and, as happiness is contagious, you won't be able to hold back the smile on your face if everyone else around you is smiling too! Positive vibes only.

9. Start breathing
We often just rush through life without truly stopping to breathe. So, take time to do that. Just take a few deep breaths and reassure yourself that everything is okay because you're here, you're living in this moment and life has so much more waiting for you. Try not to panic as much about getting things done because you don't have to be in a hurry 24/7. Life is a magical thing so just take a few moments out each day to breathe and appreciate it.

10. Spend time with nature
Research actually indicates that spending time outside in natural surroundings has a positive effect on health and can reduce stress. I love just going out for a walk, even if it's just for half and hour. Get yourself outside and appreciate the beauty around you. Go for a jog, sit in the garden, eat lunch in the park, plant some seeds, it's all actually refreshing and it's a great way to start exploring the world we live in. Many of us are so caught up in today's technology that we don't realise how amazing our surroundings are.

I hope some of these helped! Let me know what you do to make your days happy! <3

Love, Emily :)
