A Day at the Waxworks

On 19th August, my Dad and me had a day out together in Blackpool, a seaside town in England. Although this wasn't the most recent day out, I took so many photos throughout the day that I thought it would be a waste to just do nothing with them and, therefore, have decided to put them into a blog post!

We drove down to Blackpool in the car which took around 30 minutes, although, I don't mind long car journeys as I just love listening to my music! I have been to Blackpool quite a few times and, whenever I go with my family, its always a race to see who can be the first to spot Blackpool tower and then who can be the first to spot the sea! Of course, I won.
After parking, we headed straight to Madame Tussaud's. If you don't know what this is, its basically a big museum but, instead of containing dinosaurs and ancient artifacts, it is filled with life-sized models of celebrities and well known characters, made entirely from wax! Probably sounds a little creepy like that actually.
Despite not being the big London museum, the Blackpool Madame Tussaud's is always busy as its a very popular attraction, however, we didn't mind queuing as we knew we wanted to go inside! When we got our tickets, we began making our way around. Everyone there is always trying to take photos with the waxworks so there is also quite a bit of waiting at each model, however, it did make me laugh a little watching people take selfies with a waxwork of Simon Cowell!
I have been to the waxwork museum once before when I was younger and, although a lot of the models were still the same, many had been given makeovers and there were some new ones too! Although, as you will probably see, not all of the figures are totally identical to the celebrity they were based on as we know celebs love to change their hair colours and appearances! I bet they do it on purpose. Change their hair colour the day after their waxwork has been made just to annoy people haha! Below are some photos from inside the museum (also. excuse my hair as Blackpool isn't know for being the least windy place in the world!)

After leaving the museum, it was lunch time so, in true Blackpool tourist style, we bought some fish and chips and sat along the sea front whilst eating them. One thing you do have to be careful of though are the sneaky seagulls who will swoop down when you least expect it and steal your food!!
Once we were completely full up with junk food, we went for a walk along the pier. Personally, I'm not a big pier person and I'm always convinced I'm going to fall through but, thankfully, I didn't and we got to take in the pretty sights of the beach below. (note my bobble hat due to wild winds)

Finally, we took a trip to the amusement arcades, something no trip to Blackpool would be complete without! We played some of the games and I managed to win myself two small toys which now take pride of place in my bedroom. I was rather proud of myself, although, when I won the first toy there were only 3 people playing the game and only the 2 of us the second time....but hey I still won!

I was ready to go home after this and, despite my Dad's tempting offer to do loads more walking around Blackpool until my legs dropped off, I was still certain that I wanted to go. I ended up falling asleep in the car on the way home but, all in all, had a really fun day!
