Met Gala Fashion 2015

So last night saw the Met Gala 2015 take place once again and I was so excited to see what outfits everyone was going to wear, especially after last year's amazingness. 2015 did not disappoint, however, and there were many glorious dresses (some of which were rather daring) and dashing suits gracing the red carpet.

If you do not know what the Met Gala is, by the way, it is also known as the Met Ball and takes place each year as an annual fundraising gala for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City and it marks the opening of the annual fashion exhibit.

Some of my favourite celebrities put on their posh frocks and walked the red carpet last night, so here are just some of my favourite looks!

Beyonce
I feel as though it is only right to put this lady first in my post. Her ravishing dress and fierce ponytail are currently the talk of Internet, and its no surprise! Beyonce's 'barely there' dress makes such a statement and oozes glamour. The jewels do all the talking and I think its safe to say that this dress is very Beyonce! It certainly shows why we know her as Queen Bee! Oh and Jay Z did look very dapper in his suit!

Kim Kardashian-West
Another lady who can do no wrong in my eyes. Her dress is definitely perfect for her and you can tell it was made for Kim K! That feathery train looks so elegant and I can only imagine how beautiful it looked sweeping across the red carpet. Kim's simple makeup and hair complement the dress really well and it shows off her amazing figure. Kim, I take my hat off to you! (well, if I was wearing one, I would) oh and Kanye too! Doesn't he look dashing?

Selena Gomez
I have loved Selena Gomez for the longest time and that certainly didn't change last night. Her simple white dress with cut outs and black tassells looked so classy and matched perfectly with her red lipstick. I also loved Selena's choice of head accessory and how she styled her dress with simple jewellery.

Rihanna
You have probably seen quite a few rather amusing edits of this dress, however, I think Rihanna looked amazing - yellow is definitely her colour! (well, all colours are her colour really haha) The fur detailing around the edge makes it more unique and I have to praise her as this can't have been the lightest dress to wear, although it probably kept her warm haha! The slit in the leg keeps it modern and the head accessory and necklace add a classic vibe.

Amanda Seyfried
Amanda is one of my favourite actresses and never fails to look stunning. Her white dress is simple but a little extra something is added with the ruffles and the neckline makes it more classy. Her shoes match perfectly and her hair really suits being scraped back in an up-do to show off her gown. A dark red lip looks gorgeous on her and makes the look more chic.

Kendall Jenner
Introducing somebody else whom I am completely obsessed with! Kendall, green is YOUR colour! This emerald dress must have looked flawless shimmering up and down the red carpet. Kendall also loves quite simple hair and makeup and that totally works in this case as it shows off the dress really well. The cut out detailing on the sides is super pretty and I can't quite get over how much she SLAYS!!

JLo
If I look this good when I am JLo's age, I will be very happy indeed. The sheer material on her dress shows of her amazing figure and the material and jewels looks so fierce and you can tell she means business! Her clutch bag matches perfectly and she looks so stunning. Well done JLo!

Miranda Kerr
I have quite the girl crush on Miranda Kerr! She went down a different road and chose to wear a mini dress rather than a long, flowy gown which made a big statement, but that didn't stop her from looking amazing! Her dress is simple but so classy at the same time and I love the black, sheer sleeves with the unusual print on the body. The plain black heels were also a perfect choice! Oh and Miranda, can I have your legs please!?

Vanessa Hudgens
This girl slays wherever she goes and the Met Gala was no exception! Vanessa looked captivating in red and I love the black detailing on her dress. It seems like everyone was loving jewels at this year's ball! Her black, strappy heels were a fabulous choice and I am in love with her netted head accessory! Vanessa kills Coachella AND the Met Ball red carpet - she can literally dress for any occasion!

Zendaya
I'll admit that Zendaya isn't somebody who I know much about, however, I do know that she is extremely gorgeous and slayed with her dress last night! Her dress fitted in perfectly with the #ChinaLookingGlass theme and I love the unusual shape of the train on it! I also love the shape of the chest area of the dress and how her hair is flowing down. Her tiara is to die for as well! Definitely one of my favourites!

Georgia May Jagger
Someone else's dress that fitted the theme perfectly is Georgia's and I'm a little bit obsessed with it! (and her) I love the unusual purple colour and the slit up the leg. I also really like the 3/4 length sleeves with the fanned out ends and think her strappy shoes were the perfect choice for this look, along with that head accessory!

Karlie Kloss
Who doesn't love Karlie Kloss, let's be honest haha! Although her dress may seem simple, with it being all black, the slightly sheer material at the bottom makes it more classy, as does the jewelled detailing. I love the neckline and, to be honest, it would be impossible for her to put a foot wrong! Her hair looks so gorgeous with those waves too!

Sarah Jessica Parker
I think SJP's outfit sums up the theme of this year's Met Gala superbly! The black and red with the patterned panel look so good but, of course, that phenomenal head piece does all the talking! The bracelets are the perfect accessory and she just radiates glamour!

Jessica Alba
Jessica Alba. Wow. The Chinese style print on her dress was very fitting of the theme. I like the slit and the heels which show off her nail polish. I also think the thing I am most in love with, though, is her hair! How gorgeous does it look!? Her skin is glowing too, which I am very jealous of!

Lorde
Last but certainly not least, we have Lorde, who I love! This blue number, with a hint of black, suits her style perfectly, I think and still makes a statement without being super 'in your face.' Lorde looks so gorgeous and, despite looking slightly overwhelmed with everything haha, definitely deserves to know that she looks fab!

So those were just some of my faves from this year's Met Ball, I could've written about so many more but I didn't want to bore you haha!

Who do you think was best dressed at this year's Met Gala?

Love, Emily :) xx
