Met Gala Fashion 2016

So that's it for another year at the Met Gala and, I don't know about you but I'm a little lost for words and I am going to need another year at least to get over all of the perfection that we were graced with at the ball last night.
The theme for this year was 'Fashion meets technology: 'Manus x Machina,' which sounds super exciting on its own, therefore, I couldn't wait to wake up this morning and spend hours on social media, looking at what everyone wore. It's safe to say that my entire camera roll now consists, only, of photos from the Met Ball, and I have no shame in admitting that,
Despite the fact that many poked fun at the outfits worn to this year's gala and thought some were a tad disappointing, personally, I think everyone looked marvellous! I don't think I have ever seen a group of people stick to a theme so well. Everyone really captured both the fashion and technology side of things, whether that was through colours, cuts, prints or accessories.
So, without further ado, let us take a look at just some of the beautiful outfits that we had the pleasure of witnessing grace the red carpet last night. Prepare to be amazed!

Beyonce
Queen B made jaws drop in her Givenchy Haute Couture, pearl embellished dress and Lorraine Schwartz jewellery. The latex showcased her famous figure and ensured she stood out from the crowd.
Blake Lively
Does Blake ever get it wrong? Her Burberry dress floated like a Spring dream down the red carpet and her Lorraine Schwartz jewellery finished off the look perfectly. Oh so elegant!

Gigi Hadid & Zayn Malik
If these two aren't the epitome of 'Power Couple,' who is? Zigi got the fashion meets technology theme spot on in their first red carpet appearance with Gigi's Tommy Hilfiger dress and Lynn Ban jewellery and Zayn's Versace suit and Jimmy Choo shoes. He was a real life knight in shining armour!

Kristen Stewart
Kristen went for an edgy vibe in her Chanel dress and Repossi jewellery. I wish I could look as cool as she always does! Her whole look screamed 'futuristic!'

Naomi Campbell
What a woman! You just know she's one of those people who is never going to put a foot wrong. Campbell turned heads in her Cavalli Couture dress and beautiful Vendura bracelets.

Dakota Johnson
Dakota Johnson left us all starry-eyed with her Gucci gown and sparkling Norman Silverman Diamonds bracelets! She stuck to the theme alright! Oh, and I love her cute fringe!

Miranda Kerr
Miranda's pops of colour and clashing prints in her Louis Vuitton dress totally worked - she looked oh so fierce! Her Christian Louboutin shoes finished the look off perfectly.

Rachel McAdams
Rachel was going for gold in her Valentino Haute Couture dress and H.Stern jewellery. She kept with the common metallic colour scheme but put her own spin on it and looked amazing!

Lily Collins
Who doesn't crush on Lily Collins? She stood out from the crowd as she chose not to go along with the theme of metallic dresses and instead went for an orange Valentino number with Tiffany & Co. jewellery, yet she pulled it off and looked effortlessly chic.

Zendaya
I think we have all established by now that Zendaya is a red carpet Queen! Every event she attends, she gets it spot on and the Met Gala was no different as she stunned in a Michael Kors Collection dress and Jorge Aldeler rings.

Katy Perry
K.P channelled her inner Gothic Goddess with a Prada dress and added some bling with Fred Leighton jewelley. She by no means blended in but that was in the best way possible as she was one fierce lady on that carpet!

Lorde
Lorde's layered Valentino gown made her a vision of beauty on that red carpet. She looked natural yet elegant and didn't go over the top yet still captivated everyone.

Emma Watson
I spend every minute of every day admiring Emma Watson and her work and so it was no surprise that I was totally blown away by her chic Calvin Klein Collection dress, which also had trousers underneath that she chose to show off later on. Watson always looks classy and never disappoints.

Lily Aldridge
Lily sparkled on the carpet in her Michael Kors Collection dress, which she accessorised with Anna Khouri earrings and Eva Fehren jewellery. She also opted for gold brows to match the theme.

The Weeknd & Bella Hadid
Who else was left speechless by this hot couple? The Weeknd looked dreamy in his Givenchy suit whilst Bella truly was the Bell(a)e off the ball in a Givenchy Haute Couture dress, Lorraine Schwartz and Ofira jewellery. The perfection and the relationship goals really is too much to handle.

Emily Blunt
Blunt was a blue beauty in Michael Kors and Forevermark Diamonds jewellery. She kept it simple but showed off her adorable baby bump and looked pretty as a picture.

Lady Gaga
Gaga went all out and boy did it pay off. She wore Atelier Versace with Lorraine Schwartz jewellery and not to mention those ten inch heels! She isn't one to blend in yet her outfit was one of my favourites. I think the red lippy finished it off perfectly.

Cindy Crawford
This lady, AKA a fashion icon, could wear anything and look fabulous. She wore Balmain, one of my favourites, and glistened like a glitterball down the red carpet. Her dress did all of the talking and so needed no crazy jewellery.

Hailey Baldwin
What a stunner Miss Baldwin is. I think this Tommy Hilfger dress was the perfect choice for her and the Stuart Weitzman shoes were best match. The side split added youth to her look, not to mention showed off her enviable legs, and she, like many, went for a classic ponytail.

Karlie Kloss
Karlie opted for white but that didn't make her look boring. The gorgeous cut outs in her Brandon Maxwell gown showed off her figure and, in this dress, Karlie proved why she is one of the models of the moment.

Kylie Jenner
Kylie too looked a beauty in Balmain with Lorraine Schwartz jewellery and Aquazzura shoes. Miss Jenner always looks flawless and she looked a true lady at this year's gala. Also, I am obsessed with her hair cut!

Kendall Jenner
Someone who can do no wrong in my eyes. Kendall likes to keep her make-up simple and natural yet still always looks glowing and beautiful (teach me your ways!) She also opted for the ponytail to let her Atelier Versace dress take centre stage and showed everyone why every brand wants her to model for them right now!

Joan Smalls
What a woman! Smalls' incrusted Balmain dress absolutely captivated me and I can only imagine it sparkled like a dream in front of the cameras. She is a true beauty and doesn't even have to try to look like an Angel.

Ciara
I always love Ciara's red carpet looks and so was keen to see what she was going to wear to this year's Gala. She didn't disappoint in a H&M dress and Stuart Weitzman shoes and I think I may have fallen in love with her hair.

Jourdan Dunn, Doutzen Kroes & Alessandra Ambrosio
These three Balmain babes all stunned in the same brand and were certainly a force to be reckoned with on that carpet! Despite all wearing Balmain, they all put their own twist on it and stood out, however, they all looked faultless.

Haim
These sisters all wore Rodarte gowns with beautiful lace detailing. I love the layering of the fabrics and how they went with a monochrome theme. So beautiful!

Kate Upton
Can you even cope with her perfection? Kate Upton's Topshop dress and Chimmy Choo bag certainly caught my eye and I think the off the shoulder style really suits her. I wonder if her hair stylist can help me do my hair like that? She looked insane!

Demi Lovato
I am a massive Demi fan and certainly went all heart eyes when I saw her in this Moschino dress, which is a brand I love! She sparkled like a dream and wasn't making anyone question her beauty. She looked strong and like a woman who means business!

Emily Ratajkowski
Emily got everyone talking with her Prabal Gurun dress, which showcased her gorgeous figure! She went for a simple monochrome colour scheme, finishing off with Tamara Mellon shoes, yet was far from boring. Can I be her already?

Emma Roberts
I don't feel like enough people have talked about Emma and her Tory Burch dress! She looked like a true princess and I think purple is most definitely her colour, plus, that hairstyle was totally made for her!

Adriana Lima
We all love Adriana Lima and she didn't let us down on the red carpet this year. Her Giambattista Valli Haute Couture dress looked as thought it was made for her! I love the colours and unique print, which she complimented perfectly with a red lip.

Rita Ora
Rita Ora glided across that red carpet like a true Goddess. Don't you just adore the feathers on the train of her dress? You can definitely tell it is Vera Wang! She caught everyone's eye with this number and proved worthy of being all of our woman crushes.

Taylor Swift
I was beyond excited to see Taylor's outfit and oh my word. she left me speechless. Her Louis Vuitton frock was something she doesn't normally go for yet it was totally her dress! She looked like a beautiful gladiator and I am totally loving this new style she's got going on at the moment! Also, how awesome are those heels? Taylor's look was just everything!

Alexa Chung
Chung is one of my style icons so I just knew I was going to love whatever she wore. She made her mark in this stunning Thakoon suit, which I simply cannot get over! She gave off some real, strong, independent woman vibes on that red carpet! I just love Alexa.

Poppy Delevingne
Poppy's look was also one of my favourites from the night. How incredible is this Marchesa dress and Oroton bag? She shimmered like a red carpet royalty on that carpet and I think the dark lip was a perfect choice.

Selena Gomez
Selena's look was highly anticipated and I, for one, am obsessed with it! She ventured out of her comfort zone in this Louis Vuitton dress and combat boots but it was a risk worth taking. She looked strong and stunning and I also loved her hairstyle.

Claire Danes

Last but by no means least, we have the woman everyone was talking about. Claire Danes was a real life Cinderella for the night in her Zac Posen, light up, dress and I was left utterly speechless when I saw it. I don't think anybody can top her look!

So, there we have it. Be sure to let me know your thoughts on this year's Met Gala fashion! I think we can establish three things after this blog post Firstly, there were a lot of metallic dresses, secondly, a lot of ponytails and, finally, a lot of Lorraine Schwartz jewellery haha! However, all in all, everyone looked truly fabulous, showcased the theme perfectly and I cannot wait to see what 2017 brings!

Who do you think was best dressed? <3

Love, Emily :) xx
