The Summer Tag with Plami

WOO! It's the Summer holidays! And what better way to celebrate than with a Summer tag blog post, right? This post is in collaboration with one of my friends, Plami, who runs a lifestyle, beauty and fashion blog which I always enjoy reading. You can check her out HERE!
We decided to send each other fifteen Summer-related questions to answer in our own blog posts so, here, you can read my answers to the thought-provoking questions Plami sent me and, if you want to know what I asked her, be sure to check out her tag HERE.
These questions are all super fun and I really enjoyed both answering Plami's questions and coming up with ones to ask her. So, without further ado, let's jump right in to the tag so you can find out more about my Summer favourites, plans and goals!

Answer them yourself as you go along and let me know what your answers were!

1) What is your favourite make-up product at the moment?
I recently purchased some of the Colour Pop matte liquid lipsticks and I cannot seem to stop wearing them! I would definitely recommend them as they're long lasting, easy to apply and come in really pretty colours which are perfect for Summer! I also use the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation every day as it has fabulous staying power and has a buildable coverage to conceal my skin imperfections, plus, it feels light on the skin too so, during hot days, it doesn't begin to feel really gross on my face.

2) What do you want to tick off of your bucket list this Summer?
I actually am going to be ticking something off of my bucket list this August, and it's something I have wanted to do for a long time...I'm going to London! Towards the end of the month I shall be going there for a few days with  my Grandparents and 'excited' would probably be an understatement! It's one of those places which most people who aren't from the UK assume everyone has been to if they live in the UK, sadly, I haven't, hence why I simply cannot wait to go there this Summer, see the sites, explore the culture and, of course, SHOP!

3) What's your favourite food for the Summer?
Wellll...my favourite food every day of the year is pizza and that certainly doesn't change during the Summer! Pizza is for life, not just for Spring, Autumn and Winter. Although, besides pizza, if we're talking Summer-related foods, it's got to be ice cream, right?

4) Would you wear shorts or a skirt on a hot day?
I am definitely more of a skirt person. I remember a few years ago I pretty much lived in shorts, however, I no longer own a single pair! Personally, I feel much more comfortable and confident in skirts, plus, you can style them in some super cute ways. I do wear tights with them most of the time, though, yes I know, even in the Summer! But, again, it makes me feel more comfortable.

5) What's your favourite nail polish colour for the Summer?
I like neutral colours on my nails most of the year, besides Christmas when the red polish comes out. I enjoy wearing nude as it complements all outfits so you don't have to worry about not being able to wear a red top with pink nails. I like pastel colours too as they're refreshing for the warmer days, but I am also partial to a good vibrant nail!

6) What's your favourite Summer song of all time?
These type of questions are always so difficult, especially when they only want one answer! I have a lot of favourite songs, however, Summer-wise, I would say either 'Dancing on the Ceiling' by Lionel Richie, which happens to be one of my favourite songs for any time of year. It was actually release during the Summer and is definitely a perfect Summer party song. Great for a hot day and to get everyone feeling happy! I also love 'Summer of '69' by Brian Adams, (because who doesn't?) 'Classic' by MKTO, and 'Under the Sea' from the Disney movie 'The Little Mermaid' ...yes I really did just say that. It's a Summer tune. Ooh, I'll tell you what song always reminds me of Summer whenever I hear it - 'Good Time' by Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen! Now that is a Summer song if ever I heard one!

7) If you could do one thing this Summer, anything at all no matter what it was, what would it be?
Well, if we're talking anything, can I say that I want to meet Harry Styles? Lol. Although, I would love to do that every day. Besides that, if I could do anything, no matter what it was, I honestly don't know what my answer would be! Maybe just to have a sleepover with my friends? Sorry for being lame haha! Or dye my hair? Although I know I'm not brave enough! It would also be really awesome to travel to a bunch of places you simply don't get the chance to visit every day just to meet new people, listen to their stories, appreciate their cultures and experience amazing views whilst opening my eyes and mind to new ways of life.

8) Are you planning on going on holiday this Summer?
As previously mentioned, I shall be venturing down to London  in August so that is my holiday this year! It is a place which I have dreamed of visiting for as long as I can remember and our itinerary is well and truly jam-packed so I just know I'm going to love it!

9) What's your favourite thing to do during the Summer?
Honestly, I just love to relax during the Summer. It's always great to squeeze a holiday and a few fun outings in there, however, after such a hectic school year, I always look forward to the Summer holidays when I am in control of my own time again and don't have to get out of bed at 5:45am every day. I like to chill out most days, have a good amount of pyjama days, catch up on sleep and do whatever I want without having to worry about classwork. I also enjoy seeing my friends when I can as Summer is the time when we have a lot more free time.

10) Do you prefer to wear your hair up or hair down in the Summer?
If the weather is unbearably hot, I love a ponytail and hair up is usually more practical, although, I do much prefer wearing my hair down due to the fact that I just prefer how it looks. Even when it is super sunny, wearing my hair down doesn't bother me too much. I just tend to stick a hat on!

11) What's your favourite Summer hairstyle at the moment?
I'm not particularly adventurous when it comes to hairstyles. My hair is either straight, curly, in a ponytail or, sometimes, in a bun. My favourite style though is definitely curly as I think wavy hair suits me more. I am determined to get better at braiding though because there are so many pretty hairstyles I always wish I could do myself!

12) When you need to cool down, do you prefer ice cream or a cold drink?
If I'm thirsty as well as hot, it's always a cold drink, although if I just want a cool down, ice cream is a must! Ice lollies are great too because they're basically a drink as well, right? Two birds, one stone and all that.

13) What is the one thing you want to do most this Summer?
This is a tricky one! I guess if I could choose anything, it would be to just gain more experience with my writing and practice my craft a little more as it is what I hope to venture into for my future career. August is also my birthday month so I would love to basically have the best birthday ever!

14) Do you like to eat sea food?
Like with my hair, I'm not adventurous when it comes to food either and I'm not a particularly fishy person, especially seeing as though the only fish I really eat and enjoy is salmon. I haven't tried much seafood as I am a bit of a wimp! I can't see myself liking it, although I guess you don't know until you're brave enough to try it!

15) What's one thing you wish could happen this Summer?
Just speaking generally about the world we live in right now, I think it would just be nice if, this Summer, people could, essentially, stop killing each other. Of course, the world will never be free from violence, but it's no secret that there is a lot of evil out there right now and I just wish that people could learn to live peacefully with one another and I wish that those who think they hate certain things or certain people would educate themselves and be open to the idea of understanding other people's beliefs and situations, as oppose to opting for violence every time. I'll just throw it back out there too that I wish I could meet Harry Styles.

I hope you enjoyed finding out a little more about what my Summer is going to be like in 2016! Please be sure to head over to Plami's blog and check out her tag, as well as all of her other posts, which all deserve a lot of love!

I don't do collaborations often but I really enjoy them whenever I do, so thank you to Plami for working with me!

Let me know what you're going to be getting up to this Summer! <3

Love, Emily :) xx
