VMAs Fashion 2016

The VMAs, one of the most significant nights in the American music calendar. We seem to spend twelve months looking forward to them but they're soon over in the blink of an eye, but that doesn't mean to say that each ceremony isn't bigger and better than the last.

The 2016 Video Music Awards were no exception as some of the hottest stars of the moment put on their finery and an unforgettable show. The night was filled with moments that will, surely, go down in VMAs history, such as Kanye West's confusing speech, Beyonce's showstopping performance, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj's duet and, of course, Drake confessing his love for Rihanna.

However, it isn't just the show itself that everyone loves to talk about afterwards - it's the fashion. Some of our favourite musicians, models and famous faces strutted their stuff on the not-so-red-it-was-actually-white carpet and made all of our jaws drop to the floor. I know I am going to spend weeks drooling over some of the gorgeous outfits that my eyeballs were blessed with that night, therefore, I thought it was only right for me to talk you through some of my favourite looks...

Hailey Baldwin
Who else has a massive girl crush on Hailey? Not only did she show off her new hair do but she also looked beautiful in a Georges Chakra jumpsuit and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. She really is just something else!

Britney Spears
Not only did she put on a performance that everyone is talking about, but Britney tore up the red carpet too. She kept things simple in a Julien Macdonald LBD but that's all our Brit needs to shine!

Nicki Minaj
Everyone had high expectations of Nicki after her beautiful golden gown from last year but she certainly didn't disappoint. This blue dress from Harry Kotlar showed of her enviable figure and she knows that she owned it!

Beyonce and Blue Ivy

Of course, we just have to mention Queen B, who would no doubt look majestic in whatever she wore. This extravagant gown from Francesco Scognamiglio made us all go a little bit heart eyes for the 'Drunk In Love' hitmaker and it was complemented perfectly by some Lorraine Schwartz jewellery.

We can't mention Beyonce without talking about little Blue Ivy now, can we? The mini-me was every inch the fairy princess in a metallic outfit and sneakers and she was surely living the dream that night!

Joan Smalls
Who else has a major crush on this woman? The model can't put a foot wrong in my eyes and she looked fierce at the 2016 VMAs in Off White and a Jennifer Fisher ring.

Kim Kardashian-West
Kim must be a red carpet expert by now and she looked effortlessly stunning in vintage John Galliano which showcased her insane curves! She also went for a wet hair look, which made the overall look even hotter!

Stella Maxwell
I don't think I will ever be able to handle the beauty of Stella Maxwell. She kept things funky and fresh in this colourful Jeremy Scott crop top and matching trousers.

Ariana Grande
Oh Ariana, what are you doing to us? The popstar shone like the true Queen she is on the carpet in a black Alexander Wang outfit, accompanied by a choker and simple ponytail.

Taylor Hill
Taylor Swift was unable to attend the ceremony this year, however, we still had another beautiful Taylor gracing the carpet. Victoria's Secret model Taylor Hill turned heads in this stunning Moschino frock.

Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz
Oh these two! Alicia Keys chose not to wear a scrap of make-up, something which just made me fall in love with her all over again, and she also rocked a Just Cavalli dress, whilst Swizz Beatz wore a Jennifer Fisher necklace.

Fifth Harmony
For me, these girls can never get it wrong and their red carpet game just seems to be getting stronger. They looked sexy and sophisticated in matching black ensembles and also won two awards on the night, making me a super proud Harmonizer!

Halsey
Halsey was shining bright like a diamond at this year's VMAs in a figure-hugging, silver jumpsuit from Yourself Al-Jasmi and matching shoes from Stuart Weitzman.

Hailee Steinfeld
First of all, can I have her legs? Hailee rocked a Balmain dress, which is one of my favourite designer brands as all of their pieces are stunning. This one looks as though it was made for Hailee!

Rita Ora
Rita stood out from the crowd in an incredible Marc Jacobs dress, consisting of feathers and lace, and stayed true to her edgy self by accessorising with a leather jacket and chunky black platform shoes.

Naomi Campbell
I think we can all agree that this woman always looks glowing, whatever the occasion, and the VMAs were no exception as she stunned in a Brandon Maxwell dress and with glitter lips.

JoJo
I thought everyone owned the carpet, however, JoJo's outfit has to be my favourite and a lot of people are talking about it for all the right reasons. She absolutely killed it in a pair of paisley trousers, black lace top and a YSL heels. JoJo is well and truly BACK!

Congratulations to all of the performers and award winners from this year's VMAs! It was an amazing night.

Who do you think was best dressed? <3

Love, Emily :) xx
