My Favourite Nude Lip Products

In this blog post, we’re going to be talking about nudes. NO NO NO, not those type of nudes! I am of course referring to nude lip products – the best type of nude if you ask me. I wear nude lipsticks a good 90% of the time as, not only are there some fab ones out there, but they’re A) low maintenance and B) match perfectly with most outfits.
There are a variety of types of nudes. You’ve got the brown tones, the pink tones, the mattes, the sheers, the creams, the glosses, the lipsticks, the lip crayons, the lip pencils, the liquid lipsticks…AHHH! Whatever happened to just whacking a bit of Vaseline on your lips and being good to go, eh?

Well, seeing as though the world of lipsticks just in general can be pretty overwhelming, I thought I’d talk you through my top fifteen nude lip products. This compilation contains all different kinds of products so no matter what type of finish you prefer, what colour or what applicator, there should be something for you in here. These products have all very much been tried an tested and they are ones I shall definitely be repurchasing when its time to, Plus, some of these are my favourite lip products of all time, hands down!

MAC: HONEY LOVE
If you're just after a simple, matte nude lipstick, this is the one. It's MAC so isn't the cheapest of the bunch, however, I would certainly say it's reasonably priced seeing as though the quality is soo good. It's long lasting, applies smoothly and doesn't feel drying, something which I think is an important factor for mattes to have. Plus, its easy to just whack on with any make-up look.

RIMMEL: BIRTHDAY SUIT
This was one of the first lipsticks I ever bought and it will always be one of my all time favourites. It has a creamy formula and feels soft on the lips, plus, its a little different to other nudes out there due to the coppery tones in it.

MAYBELLINE COLOUR SENSATIONAL: TANTALIZING TAUPE
Maybelline is an iconic drugstore make-up brand and their Colour Sensational lippies are loved by many, and I can see why. This nude is extremely light weight and leaves more of a glossy finish. I usually wear this on top of other nude lipsticks as I think its a great one to pair with others for a stronger colour.

CHARLOTTE TILBURY: PENELOPE PINK
If you're looking for a slightly pricier nude lipstick that's going to be more of an investment, I would highly recommend the brand Charlotte Tilbury. All of their products are beautiful but their lipsticks especially are. Even just owning one feels so special due to their gorgeous, iconic packaging - if you whip this out in public, people are going to stare! 'Very Victoria' has a creamy texture and compliments any look - its simply stunning! Also, if its your first time splashing out on a designer lipstick, a nude is always the best option.

KIKO: 405
Kiko do amazing lip products at amazing prices. This one in particular is slightly lighter and more glossier than other nude lipsticks I own and it has a slight sparkle to it but, don't worry, it won't make you look like you're wearing full on glitter lips! The shimmer is subtle and just spices up your look a little.

L'OREAL COLOUR RICHE: BEIGE A NU
I am a huge fan of L'oreal in general but particularly their lipsticks - I could quite easily only wear their brand of lippies every day. This shade is a slightly darker nude but it is one of my go-to's for everyday wear. Its long lasting but, when it does start to fade, it still leaves your lips with a tint of colour. This is definitely up there with my all time faves.

L'OREAL INFALLIBLE MATT MAX LIP COLOURS: 011 SILENCIO
Here we have another L'oreal product but this is something a little different. This Matte Max Lip Colour has a unique sponge applicator but which makes putting it on so easy. The product itself is actually situated in the lid so just dip the sponge end in, twist, and you're good to go. The colour itself is a more of a brick colour but this feels so soft on my lips and I forget I even have anything on! It lasts all day and I think its a really unique concept.

TOO FACED MELTED CHOCOLATE LIPSTICKS: CHOCOLATE MILKSHAKE
Liquified lipsticks have been 'all the range' recently. This one from Too Faced may be more expensive than what you'll find at the Drugstore, but you do get what you pay for with it. It has an unusual sponge aplicator but that just makes the whole application process even easier. It claims to be long lasting on the packaging, which is a bold statement to make, but I can confirm that it does indeed last all day. Plus, the colour is gorgeous and it doesn't even feel like you're wearing anything on your lips. I like to wear a nude lipliner underneath this to help it stay put even longer and to really intensify the colour.

RIMMEL KATE MOSS LIPSTICKS: 45 & BOHO NUDE
I am rather obsessed with the Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks, as I'm sure many people are. I own a lot but they're just great! They're often the ones I reach for when I don't know what to wear and they really are just staples I think every make-up lover should have. They especially have good nude lipsticks so here are just a couple. These two have similar formulas and both feel very moisturising and creamy on the lips. They are the classic brown nude colours, 'Boho Nude' in particular, and even though they aren't expensive, they're amazing quality.

L'OREAL COLOUR RICHE: J'LO'S NUDE
Here's another one from the L'oreal Colour Riche range and this time it's a popular shade. 'J'Lo's Nude' is a best seller and its clear why. This is more on the pinky side of nudes and it is great for when you want that 'I'm not wearing anything on my lips but I actually am wearing something on my lips' look, you know? I would say its the perfect shade for school or when you just want something really low maintenance that you can apply in the morning and not worry about.

SOAP & GLORY SEXY MOTHERPUCKER LIPSTICKS: NAKED TALENT
I have fallen in love with Soap & Glory's lipsticks because they're just so easy to wear. This shade, to me, seems to have as slight red tone to it, but it is still a classic nude that feels more like a lip balm than a lipstick, and who doesn't want that? So simple to apply and complimentary to many eye make-up looks.

RIMMEL LASTING FINISH LIP LINER: 050 TIRAMISU
Here's a nude lip liner for you, something which I feel like anyone who is into make-up should own, it's an essential for me. Nude lip liners just come in handy when you have some lipsticks that require more concentration when you're applying them but they're also great to wear on their own. This one in particular has great colour to it and can easily be worn without a lipstick on top and it will stay put all day!

COLOUR POP MATTE LIQUID LIPSTICK: MIDI
I have decided that I want to own every Colour Pop liquid lipstick that exists - it's obvious to me why everyone raves about them! I wasn't sure how well I'd get along with the whole concept of a matte liquid lipstick so I went for a nude shade first time around to be safe. 'Midi' is the ideal nude with a slight pink tone rather than brown and it instantly adds an extra something to your look and liquid lipsticks are a great way of making it look like you've made a huge effort. I was so shocked by the staying power of this - it lasts all day even through eating and drinking - plus its easy to apply and drys quickly. Finally, it doesn't feel dry on my lips, which is something I was worried about at first. This has become one of my favourite make-up products in general!

TANYA BURR LIPGLOSS: DAYDREAM
Finally, if you're more of a lipgloss kind of person, try the Tanya Burr ones. This one can be worn on its own or on top of a nude lipstick for a sheer finish. Its horrible when lipglosses feel sticky but this one definitely doesn't and its a really pretty colour.

Let me know what your favourite nude lip products are! I would love to try them because you can never have too many, right? <3

Love, Emily :) xx
