The Embroidered Shirt Dress

Is it just me or is everything embroidered at the moment? Jeans, sweaters, dresses, jackets, boots, shoes...pretty much every item of clothing can be embroidered and it seems to be a big trend right now. (I use 'trend' loosely because I do not know anything about fashion trends, I've just seen a lot of people wearing embroidered things and decided it's probably a trend).

Since everyone and their dog seems to be on the embroidery hype, I picked up something of my own, however, I went for more subtle embroidery as oppose to anything really wacky. I also love shirts and dresses, therefore, a shirt dress is a winner in my eyes. The one I am wearing in this post can be purchased from Zara - a shop which is way cooler than I am - and can be styled in a variety of ways. On warmer days, wear it with bare legs and Converse or pumps and, on chillier days, stick on a pair of tights and boots. I wore some thick grey tights with mine as I don't get much wear out of them and so get excited when I find an outfit they match with. I finished the look off with a pair of trusty pair of black boots, a shoe which you just cannot go wrong with. I added a coral liquid lipstick too as it coordinated with some of the colours in the embroidery of the dress.

The embroidery itself is very pretty and adds some colour to an otherwise rather drab dress. It is dainty and fun with vibrant colours such as aqua blues and mustard yellows in an unusual pattern across the shoulders and back of the dress. It isn't too in your face like OMG LOOK AT ME I'M EMBROIDERY, just a nice little touch, you know?

The dress is extremely comfortable, the perfect length (although it does crease easily aka my worst nightmare) and is an item I know I'll get plenty of wear out.
